Dear Pat,
After meeting with several highly recommended realtors and reviewing
their presentations, Walter and I have decided to ask you and your agency
to handle the sale of our home at 9111 Home Guard Drive in Burke. Your
comparable market analysis was the most comprehensive by far. In addition,
your commission schedule offers flexibility and opportunity for us to
save some money. It may interest you to learn that your proposed list
price was identical to that of another competing broker.
On that dreadful September 11, the family of one our neighbors,
who mercifully, was unhurt in the attack on the Pentagon, lit a candle
in front of their home. By nightfall, nearly every home on the cul-de-sac
had a candle flickering in front, in silent vigil.
Our street is a street of children. When our grandchildren visit,
they can join kick-the-can and hide and seek games, or scavenger hunts
by the creek out back. The woods in our common areas are teaming with
wildlife, rabbits, box turtles, birds of all feathers, even an occasional
owl in the tall trees.
When we have to leave our nature "preserve", in-town
conveniences are only a short walk away. The Metrobus is three blocks
away. It's a 20 minute bus ride to the Pentagon Metro station. School
children can walk to the Kings park Library, Lake Braddock High School,
and McDonald's at the Kings Park Shopping Center.
As you can tell, we have become very attached to our home and
neighborhood, but the need to live closer to our children and grandchildren
in North Carolina is stronger. Our home has been a joy to live and entertain
friends in. We know it will bring as much happiness to the next family.
